CineCircle has no accounts, no sign-in and no database of users. There is nothing to log into, so there is almost nothing to tell you. This page is short on purpose.
What stays in your browser
Two things: the name you type, so the other person sees who joined, and the streaming services and genres you pick. Both live in your own browser’s local storage and never reach us. Clear your browser data and they are gone.
What the server sees
While you are in a room, our server holds the room code, the first name you typed and which films you swiped right on. That lives in memory only, for as long as the room exists. When both of you close the tab, the room and everything in it is gone. Nothing is written to disk and nothing is kept afterwards.
Film data
Posters, descriptions and streaming availability come from TMDB. Our server asks TMDB for the film details, so your browser never sends them a search. The posters are the exception: your browser loads those straight from TMDB’s image servers, which means TMDB sees your IP address and which posters you are shown. To tell you where a film streams we ask your browser which country it is set to. We do not use location services and we do not store the answer.
Visitor statistics
We use Vercel Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you.
